Summer Lantern with Rinea

Hello Crafty Friends - I am here with a fun and cute Summer Mini Hanging Paper Lantern that's perfect for decorating your dining room, back yard during a BBQ or your porch.

This adorable Mini Hanging Lantern is easy to create. I used the SVG file from Simply Crafty SVGs - the file comes with a printable PDF if you do not have an electronic cutting machine.
Simply Crafty SVGs also has YouTube Video with assembly instructions.

Materials Used:
Recollections Brand Cardstock - White
Pretty Pink Posh - Jewels
Lawn Fawn - Twine

Let's get started!

I downloaded the FREE Lantern SVG from Simply Crafty SVG and then uploaded it into my Brother Scan n Cut. I cut the lantern base from white cardstock and the accent pieces from

I then die cut a few flowers and leaves from several Rinea Foil Paper. The Leaves I cut from
The flowers I cut from Rinea Blush/Blush StarStruck Foil Paper,

Next, I put adhesive on all the tabs.  Which I folded just like the PDF/Video said to do.

Then, I adhered the accent Rinea Turquoise/Turquoise Starstruck Foil Paper pieces to the lantern top. Next, I adhered the sides of the lantern together

Then, I adhered the top of lantern together.

Then, I adhered the bottom of lantern together.

The lantern is basically done. I wanted to embellish it with flowers.

I curled the petals flowers a bit to give them some dimension. Then, I adhered some of the flowers together creating layers. I just added a drop of glue to the center of the larger flower and layered the smaller one on top.

I add a leaf and flower to the bottom left corner of the lantern and to the right top.

To give the flowers a finished look I added a jewel to the center.
(you can add bling, Nuvo drops or buttons- it's totally up to you).

I then added some twine through the hole at the top of the lantern for hanging.

Now, your lantern is complete.
You can make several of these mini lanterns and hang them along with your other party banners.

Thank you for stopping by the blog today - I hope you found some inspiration!
