Today, I am sharing a mermaid card. It seems that everywhere you look these day you can find a mermaid. I thought they where hard to find - you needed to be at sea for many days. lol

So, here is a little about my mermaid. I used a Recollections stamp by Michaels. I colored her with Copic Markers, I then added highlights with a  white Gelly Roll pen. Then I added some twinkle with a Zig Wink of Stella pen in Clear Glitter. For the background I use Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pads  and the stencil that cam with the stamp set.

I then stamped the fish, star fish, sand dollars, coral and seashell with various distress inks and Stampin' Up ink. I use Stampin' Up Dapper Denim ink for the sentiment and tiny bubbles.

Finished it off with some Zig Wink of Stella and tiny star sequins.

Thanks for stopping by. If you create a mermaid project of your won leave me a link I would love to see it.

Over at Cookin' Up Creations we're having all sorts of fun with Nursery Rhymes. I have today's Nursery Rhyme Challenge. I chose If All The World Were Paper.

If all the world were paper,
and all the sea were ink,
if all the trees
were bread and cheese,
what should we have to drink?

I chose to focus on the Ink & paper part of the rhyme. I challenge everyone to use misters on their projects. It could be a paint or dye/ink mister.

Here is the layout I created for the challenge

Another layout for Cookin' Up Creations Birthday Bash. Challenge # 1 -- Use a list in your project. You should stop and join in all the fun. Lots of challenges and prizes.

Ok, so this layout need it's own video soundtrack to go with it. Here is the back story with it. My son Liam loves the Beastie Boys' song Sabotage. He loves the video even more - not sure if it's the cars, moustaches, sunglasses or the 70's vibe of it all. So, one night I hear him singing along to the song. I come into the dining room to find him making a video to this song. he stops it long enough to ask me to pretend to punch him for the drama part of his mini movie.

Items used to create this layout are:
Pattern Paper: Tim Holtz - Retro Grundge
Polaroids, Camera & List Journaling block: DCWV Snapshot Stack
Letters: Thickers - Felt Pajamas
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Tea Dye
Trimmer: Fiskars USA
Adhesive: Tombow  Pop dots: Recollections

Playing with the Liftateers!

So, Over on the Fiskateers site Groovy Deb. Started the Liftateers. This group of scrappers lift a layout that Groovy Deb has picked out for them to be inspired by. She does this every week. This week the inspirational layout is from Fiskateer- Susan#2377. You can see it here week 31 .  She recently asked if I would like to play along with them. I agreed and this is what I came up with. I made my layout 8x10 so, I could put in the a small album of family pictures. The girls are my daughters with their cousin.

The title: Mama's Sweet Girls is because that's what they(the grandchildren) all called my mom. When this picture was taken my mom was still alive. When She saw it; all she could say was "My sweet girls - Mama's sweet girls". She loved them so very much. She was blessed with 3 granddaughters before she passed away. Now, she has 4 girls and 6 boys. I know in my heart she would be over the moon with joy with all of them.

I made the Polaroid mat for the photo. Then, I used ink to distress it. To give it that vintage feel.
Close- up of title and embellishments

I used the following to create this layout: Cardstock: Bazzil Purple & white, Patterned Paper: Background & Butterflies(cut out from paper)-Masterpiece Studios, Ribbon: Heidi Grace, Lace, Sequins, Flowers: Felt Flowers American Crafts, Bling Flower - Darice, Bling: Heart - Creatology, Center of Flower-Studio18, Chipboard Letters: Thickers, Paint: Folk Art Metallic, Ink: Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Tea Dye, Punch: Fiskars Embossing Border Punch - All A Fleur, Trimmer: Fiskars- Rotary Trimmer, Adhesive: Aleene's Quick Dry Tacky Glue & Elmer's Tape Runner & Homemade Shimmery spray.
