Design Team Layout Share.

We continue to create some fun challenges over at Cook' Up Creations based on our Spring to Summer theme. Today, I challenged the group to be inspired by the beautiful trees.

Challenge: Wood You?
In spring and summer the trees start to bloom and look so lush their leaves come into beautiful shades of green.

For this challenge I would like you to celebrate the trees. You can do this in 2 ways.
1. By using all the wonderful wood or wood inspired products that are so trendy right now. Woodgrain paper & letters, wood veneers, wood washi, stamps etc.

2. By featuring family members in and amongst the trees.

Here is the layout I created for this challenge.

New Month, New Theme and layout

Hello and welcome May!! We're creating new challenge over at Cookin' Up Creations for May. Our theme for this month is Spring into Summer.

Which is a fun theme because think of the different things you can do. So, get out those flowers, beach, water/lake, pool, baseball, soccer, garden & more pictures out and start scrapping along with us

I already post the first challenge for this month called Shades of Blue. You can find the challenge
at the Cookin' Up Creations Forum  here -> Shades of Blue

This is the layout I created for the challenge.
I started by creating my own background ombre paper. I used mists & dry paint brush to do this. Then did some droplets. I then layered papers and photo to finish the layout. I left off the journaling for the photo because It's private message to my daughter.

Close - up of all the details.
Hand stitched sun & clouds using Amy Tan stitching templates, I then used Faber-Castell watercolor pencils to color the sun along with a water pen, I then used Marvey Uchida Liquid Applique to creae the puffy dots & swirls in the clouds.

I started layering tags, banners, vellum circles, washi, glitter tape & textured paper.

More of the layers

Title - I used Thickers in Eric font - color corn.

Cookin' Up Creations Design Team Layout Share

Sharing another layout I created for a challenge over on Cookin' Up Creations. I really enjoyed this one. I got to bust out the rub-ons from the stash and use them up. Yeah!
I am not sure why It looks so cream or yellow on here -- the background cardstock is white. I misted the background with 2 different masks one is Studio Calico and the other was one I came up with - it's leftover packaging from a game. Them applied the rub-ons and I even used my foam stamps for the title and the heart and swirl in the background. I used scraps for the layers behind the photo and the paper cut out are from the new Dear Lizzy Charmed Collection. Then did some stitching.

Here are some close-ups of all the details.

I hope you join us over at Cookin' Up Creations. If you do create a layout be sure to leave me a comment and a link to your layout I would love to see what you created.

One of Those Days......

Today has turned into one of those days. You know the kind.... Were things go wrong and right all in one day.

First, it was my daughter -- She woke up so sick today. Poor girl has had a bad go of things health wise this year. Then, my son woke up with a sore throat. All I can say it looks yucky in there. Then, I bashed my knee on the tub. It was fun -- NOT! very painful.

On the best thing about the day -- Today is Hubby and mine anniversary of our first date. We celebrate it every year.

Finally, I got Layout of The Week on Cookin' Up Creations.

Layout to Share

Sharing a layout I created for the challenges over at Cookin' Up Creations. I will be add a few more soon.

Doing my best to earn more stamps in my passport.

Lake Hillier, Western Australia
This is the layout I created for this challenge. We had to use a negative somewhere in the layout and the color pink. I cut out the heart and back it with a watercolor pink ombre heart I created. I also used a stencil for the wings and painted with Heidi Swapp Teal Color Shine to highlight them. Then hand stitiched around the heart.

All the details close-ups.
