  • Yellow Cardstock
  • Dark Yellow Cardstock
  • White Cardstock
  • Specialty Shimmer Paper - Yellow
  • Popsicle Pattern Paper
  • Turquoise Pattern Paper
  • Acrylic Paints: Yellow, Turquoise, and White
  • Various Dies
  • Tiny Gems
  • Bearly Art Glue
  • Foam Tabs
  • Paint Brush

Instructions

Step 1: Create the Card Base

Cut a piece of yellow cardstock to create an A2-sized card base (4¼" x 5½"). Set aside.

Step 2: Die Cut the Layers

Using your various dies, cut:

  • A large stitched rectangle from yellow cardstock for the background panel.
  • A long decorative panel from white cardstock for the center of the card.
  • Two accent pieces from pattern papers to layer behind your focal elements.
  • A die cut doily from white cardstock.

Step 3: Add Summer Color

Using a paint brush, apply acrylic paints to the punched out words:

  • Turquoise for cool accents.
  • Yellow for sunny highlights.

Allow the paint to dry completely before assembling.

Step 4: Create the Focal Image

Choose a popsicle from the Summer Chipboard Punchouts. Add a bit of glue to the popsicle and place the specialty paper onto it. The texture of the paper creates a frosty summer look. I let dry then I trimmed the extra paper.

Step 5: Build the Card Front

Next, I adhered the die cut pattern paper to the white cardstock(2-1/4"x5-1/4"). I centered and adhered the popsicle paper onto the white cardstock strip and then adhered the turquoise paper allow a bit of space between the papers.

Adhere the yellow background panel to the card base.

Step 6: Add the Sentiment

Attach the "Hello" from the Summer Puchout Chipboard word near the top of the center panel. I added the Summer Word just below the hello.

Step 7: Finish the Focal Point

I adhere the popsicle chipboard punchout on top of the doily. I placed the doily element toward the lower right side of the card. I used foam tabs to make it stand out.

Step 8: Embellish

Scatter several tiny gems around the card front to add sparkle and visual balance.

Step 9: Complete Your Card

Check that all layers are secure and enjoy your bright summer-inspired creation!
