I love this picture of my daughter and son posing on top of the van. They were outside with their dad and I watching the shuttle launch. I love their carefree smiles. Their faces as they watched the shuttle up in the sky. Their questions after. I miss those days of wonder.

Now, She's 18 years old and in college and he is 15 years old in high school. They are both so intelligent and funny.

Here are a few pictures of all the little details.
I used some rub-ons (star & heart),  package techniques for the background, some watercolor pencils for the circles, washi tape, puffy hearts, enamel hearts & stars, tissue paper behind the picture, some sequins and some Heidi Swapp  Colorshine in Navy.

I hope you enjoyed your weekend. I sure did! Mother's Day was so much fun. I got to spend the day with my children and my hubby. It just happened to be my hubby's birthday as well.

Now, I wanted to share a layout with you today. It's a mixed media layout. I layered chipboard hearts onto cardstock then gesso over them. I then put Heidi Swapp colorshine and paint on top allowing it to run down the page. once dry I stamped on the layout. Then I created my layout. I foiled the star wood veneer then sanded it a bit to create a grunge rocker look.  Thanks for stopping by.

Feel free to leave me a comment or link up your mixed media layout.

Here are a few close ups for the layout.

Cookin' Up Creations Design Team Work Share

I recently challenged the group on Cookin' Up Creations to create a project using a few of their older supplies and mix in a few new ones. The challenge A Little Bit if This & That

For this challenge I had them use the following items to create their project.
Punches, Decorative Scissors, Metal Clip, Vellum &Textured paper. Then I had them alter their punched shapes.

You can use this in any combination. Layer it up and have fun with your old stash . Mix it up with  the new papers and embellishments and you'll be so surprised how good it will look.

Here is the layout I created for the challenge. I used Fiskars Threading Water border punch and a small hand heart punch from Provo Craft to create a new border to fit my theme. I also used pattern, colored & plain vellum from my stash.

Close up of the new border I created for my photo mats which I created to look like Polaroids

Close up the other border punches and decorative scissors used

Close up of my title (I don't know why this one keeps coming up so blue)
